This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped.

Macy is a sweet and playful Catahoula/Lab mix who’s quickly won hearts in her foster home. She’s affectionate, housetrained, and adores chew toys, cuddles, and calm companionship. Macy gets along well with dogs of all sizes and is respectful around cats—she may playfully chase outdoor ones but responds well to redirection and leaves the indoor cats alone.

She has done well meeting new people, including children. That said, Macy is a sensitive pup who can be unsure in overstimulating or chaotic environments,  around loud, energetic kids or unfamiliar people and big dogs. She’s looking for a calm and encouraging home to continue building her confidence. She has come a long way over the past few weeks!

Macy would thrive in a home with:
✨ A quiet neighborhood and a relaxed, steady routine
✨ Adults or older, dog-savvy kids—her own family’s energy is fine, but wild playdates could overwhelm her
✨ A confident, friendly dog companion (optional, but would help her shine)
✨ A patient, positive owner who’s excited to invest time in gentle training and continued socialization

Macy is well-behaved when left alone and doesn’t require another dog, but she would thrive with a confident and kind companion—human or canine—who can show her the world isn’t so scary after all.

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
