Handrietta *LOCAL* needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping her get a new start?
Age: 1 Year (as of 1/14/15) Meet sweet and gentle Handrietta! Her face looks like that of a beagle, but her body more like that of a mini-boxer. She is shy and cautious when meeting new people and in new homes. It may take her a few days to settle into her new home, but once comfortable, she's very friendly and very gentle. She bonds quickly and well with her humans, and loves to get super close and jump on your lap for some loving pets. She would be great for an older couple or a family with a quiet child/children. She has been around older respectful children and has done great with them. She likes to come and go inside and out, and would really love a home with a fenced-in yard. To get your attention, she'll oh-so-gently place her paw on you. She is house trained and crate trained. She's non-destructive in the house and gets along well with other dogs, so she doesn't need to be crated. She walks well on a leash but still could use more work, along with some basic obedience training. This training will also help build her confidence and help her further blossom. She can be playful with other dogs but is slow to start a playful relationship with them. Handrietta has low to moderate energy. She rides well in the car, even when not crated - she does not get car sick. As you can see in the video, she's well behaved - after the video she just laid down and went to sleep.
In the video you will hear that when she's happy, she will make a quite unique and very cute "pig grunt." Handrietta will make a great companion for the right caring individual or family. Could she be The One for you?
