This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped.

This pretty girl is Pacue! Pacue looks to be a Corgi and Yellow Lab mix. She has the beautiful coat and colorings of a yellow lab, and the short, stocky legs of a Corgi.

Pacue is a sweet, goofy girl who is quiet as a mouse most times, but will alert when a stranger comes to the door or walks by the apartment door. Once she has settled into her home, she will romp around in the bed, play with toys, and loves to run around the yard - on her own, or in chase with the other dogs. Pacue does not care to be crated, as she would prefer to be out with her people, but she is nondestructive when left loose and alone with the other dogs. House training is in progress. When a pee pad is out, she now uses it approximately 70% of the time. Pacue is still learning how to walk on a leash, and is still very intimidated by the "outside" world. Further socialization work in small doses is needed so that she feels confident while out and about. For this reason, we recommend that she be placed in a home with a fenced yard so that she can get ample exercise and be further house trained while she is still learning leash confidence.

Pacue has a thick medium coat, and is fond of pets and rubs. She will jump on the bed at bedtime and snuggle up against and walk on top of her people. She sleeps soundly through the night, either in her foster mom's bed or crated. Pacue is very comfortable with other dogs who are friendly; she is submissive by nature, and she loves to romp around with them in the snow and on the bed. Pacue would likely do best in a home with another playful, well-balanced dog so she can look to that dog for cues, reassurance and confidence. A strongly dominant or overly assertive dog would not be a good match for her. When she feels safe, Pacue will take treats from her people and snuggle up to them. Pacue would probably do best in a quieter household with few new/different people coming and going. She needs a family who is committed to managing her environment and exposing Pacue in small doses to new people and experiences until she is ready for the next step.

Pacue is now approximately 1 year old. She was found as a stray, along with her sister, in the country when they were young puppies. The woman who found them tried to take care of them, but she was financially unable to. Being far out in the country, they also did not have any exposure to anyone or anything, and as a result both are very shy. Pacue's sister has been adopted and is doing very well in her new home; we want and expect the same for Pacue!

Along with basic training and further socialization, Pacue needs lots of praise, love and patience. Time and patience, combined with regular exposure to new and always positive situations will help Pacue blossom. Pacue will need a special family to help her become the dog she was always meant to be...but for the right family, it won't feel like work and you will be rewarded with a very sweet, gentle, and loyal friend.
