CUTENESS ALERT!
This adorable little baby is Ingrid Piper. Ingrid entered rescue with her three siblings at one day old, along with their lovely mom Piper, who is also looking for her forever home. They were born on June 17, 2015 and will be ready to go to their new loving homes soon. They look to be Terrier mix and by the looks of their tiny features, they will be small like their mom who weighs just 9 pounds. Ingrid is smaller than her sister Helga and more reserved, but a happy girl and friendly to everyone she meets, nonetheless. She doesn't care to venture too far from their bed which is her home base and will head there for a rest when she needs it. She's quiet when held and like her sister, she loves when her foster mom gets down to puppy level on the floor. Ingrid will need a home with someone who has the time and energy for a young puppy. She will need obedience training, house training, crate training and most of all lots of LOVE!

Medical Note: In August 2015, this puppy and her litter-mates were very sick and almost died. Two of her litter-mates did pass; their diagnosis was coccidia, complicated by their small size and potential exposure to parvo in-utero. The surviving  puppies, Helga and Ingrid, are now recovered and doing great as happy, active, adorable puppies. The vet has cleared them for transport to RI and does not expect any future complications with their health, but there is a very small chance that they might develop a heart condition. Additionally, because of their small size, they should not be spayed prior to the age of 6 months. As such, we will issue a spay addendum on them, requiring them to be spayed at the age of six months. SOS offers several options for completing this, one of which is at no cost to the adopter. Due to the small chance of developing a heart condition, however, it is possible that their spay surgery could be a higher risk and/or not recommended at all by the veterinarian. If the later, the adopter would need to be committed to be diligent at keeping the dog isolated from other dogs while in heat (which happens on average 2x/year for 10-20 days) for the duration of her life.

**Additional info you should know -  For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label.   Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption.  There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
