This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped.
Meet Garth! Garth looks to be a Schipperke/Terrier mix that we estimate is around 2 years old.He is a good boy that is smart and obedient. He does exhibit mild resource guarding with other dogs and should be fed separately for now, but will likely get better once he's in a stable home environment. He loves to play in the water at the lake, he loves the water so much he will even play with the water in his dish. Garth has beautiful dark, soulful eyes and the cutest big ears. Garth was picked up as a stray and the owner never came to claim him. Garth is new with us and we are still getting to know him, we will update as soon as we learn more about this wonderful boy!
Medical Note: Garth tested positive for exposure to ehrlichia while in SOS foster care. Garth is/has been asymptomatic while in SOS care and was treated with a 28-day course of doxycycline. A 4Dx SNAP test should be repeated 6 months after completed treatment to confirm negative results. SOS will cover the cost of this test at our RI vet.
