This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped.

Meet Ursula! Ursula is a tiny Chiweenie mix. She is good with all dogs, large and small. She is good with cats, and children over eight years old. She is crate trained and working on leash walking. She will need to be house trained. She likes to play and likes toys. Ursula would love to sit on your lap and get lots of loves. She is a friendly girl, and is not shy, but will softly approach new people. Ursula is a healthy girl. She has a thick coat but lacking fur on her neck and hind quarters, however the skin is soft and smooth. The skin is healthy but we can't say for sure if her fur will ever grow there. She has a small umbilical hernia that was of no concern to the vet during her spay, he saw no need to repair it.

Ursula's previous owner was an elderly lady that passed away. Her daughter inherited the house and all the animals. After a month the house was condemned and the daughter moved away. She took one dog and left the rest behind. Two weeks later a neighbor complained of a smell, so the cops went out. They opened the door to see dying dogs and starving cats, some jumped over their heads and where never seen again. Some dogs slipped out and were hit by cars. Over 30 dogs were in deplorable conditions - some dead or dying, some in labor. The surviving were 9 males, 8 females and 2 were pregnant, but later had miscarriages. Ursula was a lucky girl to have survived such an ordeal. We think Ursula needs extra TLC to make up for such a horrible start to life. Will you share your life and home with this little survivor?

**Additional info you should know -  For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label.   Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption.  There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
