Meet Jack or "One Eyed Jack" as he is called. One Eyed Jack is an awesome little guy, he looks to be a Terrier mix that we estimate to be around 8.5 years young and for his age he still has a lot of spunk! He can be fairly laid back but when the opportunity arises he will romp around like a young adolescent and having one eye doesn't slow him down a bit. One Eyed Jack cannot be left outside alone, he does not do well tied up and he can climb any fence there is out there. He does walk well on a leash and he loves to go for walks. He is good with cats and other dogs. He likes to play with other dogs but he is just as happy hanging with his people. He will sit by you quietly until it's time to play again. Jack gets along with everyone of all ages, he's not a bit timid. Jack has thunderstorm anxiety and he will climb a fence if there is a storm coming or if he is anxious. He takes anxiety medication during big storms. Jack will need to be house trained which will take someone with patience but he is smart and a fast learner so he should do fine with consistency and time, or he may need help from a trainer. Whatever it takes - Jack is worth it! One-Eyed Jack was rescued in 2007, he was picked up when he was dodging traffic on a busy road. He had an injury to his eye that was causing him much pain. The vet said his eye needed to be removed, the injury caused the eye to be blind and he would remain in pain if it wasn't taken out. He had the surgery and never missed a beat! Jack thrives on people and he will do best with a family who wants him in the center of their lives. Don't let Jack's one eye or his age stop you from adopting him. He has been in rescue too long! Please find it in your heart to adopt Jack and give him the fur-ever home he deserves.

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
