This stunning girl is Kimmy! Kimmy looks to be a Catahoula Leopard Dog/Hound mix that is approximately 18 months old. This girl is more than just looks though. She is sweet, happy and a pleasure to be with. Kimmy is great with all dogs and she even gets along with cats. She has not been introduced to children as of yet, but we think with her loving personality she should be fine.  Interactions between dogs and young children should always be supervised. Kimmy is crate trained and leash trained; she absolutely loves to go for brisk walks. She also loves to run and play fetch, she just hasn't caught on that she needs to bring the ball back. Kimmy would love to have a fenced-in yard at her new home, so she can practice fetching and become a super star fetcher.

Kimmy isn't all play, she is also calm and quiet when not engaged. She loves laps and will sit and cuddle on you if you let her. Kimmy is eager to please and quick to learn, and would benefit from obedience training. Kimmy was dumped at a school and hung out there for three weeks until she was rescued by a volunteer. If you would like Kimmy to be your girl, fill out an application...You are going to love her!

Medical Note: On 1/12/2016 Kimmy tested positive for heart worm disease. Kimmy is currently undergoing treatment now following the American Heartworm Society's recommended protocol. We believe the infection is young, since she tested negative and has been on preventatives since 10/2015. Additionally, Kimmy is and has been asymptomatic of this disease since she has been in rescue, so we do not expect any complications during or after treatment. Please research this condition if you are interested in adopting Kimmy. We expect Kimmy's treatment to be complete and her to be ready for transport to New England and adoption in early April 2016. If you know Kimmy is the one for you, you don't need to wait - apply now so that Kimmy can be on her way to your home as soon as she is ready!

**Additional info you should know -  For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label.   Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption.  There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
