This beautiful girl is Nelly!
Nelly was a stray picked up by Animal Control in December 2015, but that's in the past - Nelly's all about her future now! We're still learning about her, but what we know, we love! Nelly appears to be a Labrador Retriever mix approximately 1-2 years old. She gets along well with other canines who like to play rough and don't hold grudges. Her play style would probably be too much for small dogs, children and timid cats. Nelly is friendly with adults once she has a few moments to warm up to them and likes to be petted - she's a real people lover! She will sit by your side as long as you have your hand on her - she's a sweet, sweet girl. Nelly is working on her leash training and doesn't require a yard, but will benefit from two 30-minute walks per day, as well as basic training and consistent house rule reminders. Nelly is smart, even-tempered, gentle, a bit goofy, eager to please, playful and affectionate. Nelly is house trained and crate trained - in fact she crates herself all the time and goes in readily and willingly - but may need reminders when she transitions to a new home. Obedience training is recommended for Nelly and her new family, not just for the owner/dog bonding aspect of it, but also because it helps with confidence building and socialization for the dog.
