This little girl is as sweet and cute as they come! Heiress is a loving girl who appears to be a Shetland Sheepdog mix (Sheltie) around 6 years old. She loves to be with her people, and can often be found in your shadow. She is good with cats, children and passive dogs. She is leash trained, house trained and crate trained. She rides well in the car, is even-tempered, and is friendly when meeting new people. She can be spunky, playful and affectionate and she is also smart and gentle, and would do well with further training.
Sweet Heiress has proven herself to be a survivor; she is happy and affectionate, despite her hard start in life and recent medical issues. Heiress has been through a lot in her short life. She was surrendered to a Tennessee shelter in pretty bad condition. She had no fur from the waist down due to [easily fixed] grain allergies, and she had clearly had several litters of puppies. Shortly after coming into rescue, a malignant mass was found and surgically removed from Heiress' breast tissue. The surgery report states good margins and an optimistic prognosis for her quality of life, but to be safe, Heiress' chest should be checked once a week by her people for any new lumps. She is on Benzapril (2.5mg) daily for a heart murmur and Benadryl (1 pill daily) for allergies. She is on a grain-free diet due to grain allergies and is doing well on it.
Heiress is finally starting to feel better and we are committed to giving her the life she has always deserved; now she just needs to find her own family! If you can give Heiress the home and love she deserves, please fill out an application. She is sure to give you endless love and loyalty.

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
