Kiley Maui loves romping in the sand – beach sand, of course!
Kiley is one of four girls in the Maui litter and PLAYFUL should be their middle name! These beautiful girls appear to be a Labrador Retriever/Catahoula Leopard Dog mix about 5 months old. Kiley looks very husky-ish, especially with her gorgeous blue eyes! They are all in the process of learning to go potty outside, are already crate trained and walk on a leash. They are good with other dogs, cats, adults and absolutely LOVE children. They like toys and are good in the car so a trip to the pet store to pick out new toys will be in order. They are affectionate, smart, even-tempered, gentle, and eager to please. We strongly recommend that all our dogs attend obedience classes, not only because you get to learn commands together and it offers an opportunity for confidence building and socialization for the pup, but because it helps to strengthen that ever-important bond between the dog and her human family. And it’s lots of fun! A well-mannered, obedient dog will be welcomed most anywhere you take her. Though a fenced yard is an ideal place for your puppy to romp and play safely, if that’s not an option then lots of daily walks and opportunities to play off-leash in a dog park is the next best thing. A tired dog is a good dog! Dogs of all ages also benefit from mental stimulation – think puzzle toys and games. Puppies are a lot of work and require a strong commitment to teaching them obedience, socializing them with other dogs and people, playing with them and loving them to pieces. It takes a lot of time, energy and patience to bring up a puppy, but it’s totally worth it!

 

The Maui puppies' Mom was dropped off at a high kill shelter, pregnant and about to deliver. The shelter manager called a local rescue and asked them to please take her or they'd have to put her down. The rescue didn't hesitate! They rushed right over and the next day the Maui puppies were born. Winter won't last forever and soon it'll be beach weather again! Will you be up for some fun in the sun and sand?
