This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. This sweet face belongs to Hank! How could you not fall in love with him??? Hank appears to be a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix, a mix most often referred to as a Chiweenie. He's about 8 months old and not quite 9 lbs. - just a little guy! Being a puppy, Hank will need to learn all those things that puppies need to know to grow up to be a confident, well-adjusted adult canine. He's working diligently on his house training and leash walking. He's already crate trained and for a young 'un has good manners. We strongly recommend that all our dogs attend obedience classes because you get to learn commands together, and it offers an opportunity for confidence building and socialization for the dog, and it also helps to strengthen that ever-important bond between the dog and his human family. It’s lots of fun, too! A well-mannered, obedient dog will be welcomed most anywhere you take him. Though a fenced yard is an ideal place for your puppy to romp and play safely, if that’s not an option then lots of daily leash walks and opportunities to play off-leash in a dog park is the next best thing. A tired dog is a good dog! Dogs of all ages also benefit from mental stimulation – think puzzle toys and games. And Hank likes to play fetch so you'll need to be sure to get your throwing arm in shape! He's good with other dogs and with children - as you can see from some of his photos! He hasn't been introduced to any kitty cats, so we don't know what he thinks of them. Hank can be shy at first meeting and warms up quickly. He's affectionate, obedient, eager to please, smart, even-tempered, gentle and puppy-goofy. He's not a barker per se, he'll bark if the other dogs are barking.
Hank was an owner surrender and we don't know the circumstances. What we do know is that this sweet little guy is looking for his furever home.
