Winston is as handsome and as happy as they get!
This sweet boy looks to be a hound/lab mix just over 1-year old and just under 50lbs. He's so handsome in his shiny black coat, and the white that starts at his throat, surrounds his muzzle and shoots up between his eyes makes him look quite debonair!

He is very social with other dogs - he enjoys dog parks, playdates and hikes with other dogs. He also enjoys the game of fetch with his Kong. Winston would love a fursibling to keep him active, but he will also do just fine as an only dog. He is an active boy, and would do best in a household that will give him regular structured exercise (think walks, runs, hikes) as well as regularly structured stimulation (think puzzle toys, training, tricks, and fetch). "Loose time in the yard" is not going to cut it for this boy; he needs slightly more structured exercise and activities to feel fulfilled. In addition to active adventures, he is also the perfect sofa cuddler. His foster mom calls him a "chronic cuddler" because once he is comfortable, he won't move for hours. He also does this adorable thing where he nuzzles his head right under your chin and he will stay like this for however long you let him! 

Winston is house trained, although sometimes if he gets overly excited or nervous, he'll let out a little tinkle. But otherwise, he will stand by the door to let you know he needs to go potty! He is still working on his crate training. He does fine in a crate at night (but would love you bunches if you'd let him sleep in the bed or on the floor next to your bed) but he doesn't really like being crated during the day. He has a bit of anxiety, so his foster mom thinks he associates the daytime crating with his humans leaving and it makes him nervous. However, he has been left alone up to four hours uncrated and his foster mom was so impressed when she came home and nothing was destroyed! He does great on a leash but needs to still work on redirecting (if he sees a squirrel or a good spot to sniff, he has a hard time being redirected). But he is a very smart, eager to please dog and his foster mom thinks he'll master redirection in no time! He also has mastered sit, lay, stay, and come. He is also pretty good at playing fetch and bringing it back! He'll bark occasionally if he hears something, but quickly quiets down once told to. Loud noises like thunder and fireworks unnerve him, but he is otherwise a pretty confident, well-balanced dog who is doing just fine with his foster mom in the city.
