Oh, sweet Karma!
All your beautiful pups are adopted, now it's your turn! This gorgeous girl appears to be a Labrador Retriever/Hound mix about 2 years old. She was taken from her previous owner by an Animal Control officer who is friends with a board member of our Mississippi rescue partner, and she brought the Mom and her puppies to the rescue. Karma loves all people and all the dogs she meets, and she LOVES to play! Her favorite games are "catch me if you can," rough wrestling and tug-of-war. She likes chew toys and squeaky toys, playing fetch, going for walks, cuddling, going places and meeting new people. She's fairly active, but if given good exercise with walking and trotting, she'll calmly chill out with you. Karma would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE a fenced backyard to run and play in, but brisk daily leash walks and opportunities to play off-leash in a dog park will help to tire her out. They say a tired dog is a good dog! She's very smart, eager to please, and treat and toy motivated - the perfect combination to ace obedience classes! She will also benefit from mental exercise - think puzzle toys and games. She now knows "sit," "down," "wait," and "shake." She rings the bell to go outside, but often it's just because she loves being outside. Karma has been having a lot of problems recently with excitable/submissive peeing, so house training needs to continue. She does go every time her foster mom takes her out - maybe just to make mom happy. She is crate trained and since she still has a puppy mentality, she needs to be watched and crated when not at home. She walks extremely well on a leash, actually loose leash...until she sees a rabbit or squirrel! She does have a high prey drive. She loves playing with kids and adults, and is interested and playful with kitty cats. She rides fine crated in the car, happy and excited to be off on an adventure.

 

Karma barks when she's playing and will bark in the faces of dogs she wants to play with. She will also bark when she has something important to tell you. She can be quite the chatty girl!
