This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped.
Sissy is not only beautiful, she's PERFECT! She's already house trained, crate trained and walks well on a leash! She's a great size - not too big, not too little - and rides great in the car, crated or loose! She's definitely going to want to be your errand buddy and road trip sidekick! We're thinking she's a Dachshund mix born sometime in May of 2016. She was surrendered as a Mama with puppies to our Arkansas rescue partner by an owner who couldn't care for them. All her puppies have been adopted through SOS and now it's Sissy's turn to find that perfect forever home! She's playful, yet gentle; loves meeting new people, and is fine with kids, cats (yawn, couldn't care less), and other dogs! She hasn't had any obedience training, but being eager to please and treat/attention motivated, she and her new human(s) are going to ace training classes! Though she doesn't necessarily need a fenced yard for exercise, she will need daily leash walks for business and pleasure - and maybe a trip to a dog park for some off-leash fun. She likes toys and for exercising her canine mind, puzzle toys and games are great.

Medical Note: This dog has been treated for heartworm disease with melarsomine injections. Once treatment is completed and the dog tests negative for microfilaria, the dog will be cleared to resume normal activity and able to be adopted. Untreated heartworm disease can cause lasting damage to the heart, lungs and arteries, and can affect the dog’s health and quality of life even after the parasites are gone, possibly presenting as medical complications and/or new conditions in the future. Medical Note: This dog tested positive for exposure to ehrlichia while in SOS foster care. This does not mean that this dog had ehrlichia. This dog is/has been asymptomatic while in SOS care and was preventatively treated with a 28-day course of doxycycline.
