Location: RI
This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped.
Meet Joey! He is last of his litter. We are thinking these precious pups are a Dachshund mix.
Joey is in foster with 2 other large dogs. He was very hesitant with them at first but has slowly warmed up with time and is now happy to engage in play. He is slower to warm up to new people and dogs and is looking for a home that will go at his pace. Once he knows you he is a typical fun loving and playful pup!
He is doing great with his house training and working on crate training. He sleeps in the crate at night and will settle during the day after a short whine.
Joey is looking for an adopter who has the time, energy, and patience to commit to continuing their education, and who has plenty of time for exercise and play - all those things that make raising a puppy a lot of work, but with the huge reward of an awesome canine companion.
Attending puppy obedience training is a must and will help solidify your pup’s social skills, as well as boost his or her self-confidence. Joey is currently enrolled in puppy class at Modern Dog Training.
BabyAnimal pup’s story: Just before Valentine's Day, a kind-hearted lady spotted Bunny, a very pregnant stray dog, braving the cold weather alone. She knew Bunny needed help; she could take her in from the cold but couldn’t keep her long term nor care for her future pups. That’s when she reached out to one of our southern rescue partners and they stepped in! Bunny was placed into a loving foster home, and just three days later, she gave birth to 7 bundles of joy.
Now, Bunny’s pups have grown into typical happy, playful, and loving little ones, each full of affection and personality. They’re ready to find forever families where they can spread love and smiles
An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this.

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
