This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped.

Yoshi Berra is a mild-mannered girl who equally enjoys cuddling on the couch...
and running zoomies in the yard! She has a moderate energy level, and would enjoy a day mixed with these two fav activities, as well as maybe a little training and a walk around the neighborhood.
Yoshi likes to toss around soft toys, as well as chew on antlers and Benebones. She is starting to learn some basic commands and seems to be a rather quick study, so further training will be fun with her. She is a little shy and unsure of new people at first, so a home without a lot of new people coming and going will be important for her. Slow introductions to strangers will be very important in the first few months in her new home, so she can have many positive experiences with strangers and start to be more confident meeting them. A home with small or young children might not be a good fit for her - she doesn't quite understand them and their noises and movements make her nervous. She also still jumps up some and nibbles a bit.

Yoshi is learning how to walk well on a leash and making good progress; she does best on an Easy Walk harness and a short leash, and is still learning about common neighborhood noises so we always take our treats with us when on walks to create positive associations. She gets along well with all other dogs - she is submissive and not overbearing - and particularly enjoys the company of other playful dogs who like a good game of chase. She would love to have a canine sibling in her forever home, but she would also likely be fine as your one and only. She's not aggressive with kitty cats but does want to play with them, and gets really excited and into chasing sometimes. A home home with a calm, non-reactive cat would probably work. She is used to being crated overnight, and is quiet as a mouse as long as she is crated near or in the same room as her people. She has been crated during the day while her foster siblings have free range of the house around her crate and she has done well. She has a little bit of underlying anxiety which manifests in her jumping up, as well as her wanting to be with her person whenever they leave the room. With regular exercise, a stable home and routine, and some basic training to help increase her overall confidence, we think this anxiety will fade away in the first few months in her new home.

Yoshi Berra's Story: Yoshi and her brother, Yogi, were found running stray on the streets of Rosenberg, Texas; rather than turn them into the shelter, our Texas rescue partner took them in and now they are ready to find their new New England homes.

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
