King is one of a kind!
He knows what he likes and definitely knows what he doesn't like! He loves other dogs and is good with any size and any age. He likes his crate and will go there for security, especially since loud noises (think fireworks!) make him nervous. He likes people and is so affectionate! He has recently learned to go to the door when he needs to go outside and walks well on the leash. House training is in progress and he is almost there - we're thinking he must've had a fenced yard in his previous home. He doesn't like going to the vet AT ALL - but who really likes going to the doctor? He's fine in the car and will most likely be your errand buddy and road trip sidekick.
King would do best with a dog savvy adopter, in a home with no children and not a lot of people coming and going. His new human(s) must be accepting of how he is and not pushy with their own needs or expectations of how he should be, and they must advocate for his space and time with others. His vet will need to go sloooow with him. He would benefit from group training classes and maybe even some private training sessions. Does this sweet boy sound like the perfect fit for you? Fill out an application today and his people will get right back to you!
King's Story: He was surrendered by his owner who said that because he was being deployed by the military, he did not have time to care for the dog.

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
