Walter is a chill dude!

He is also gentle, playful, and a little shy. We are thinking this handsome boy is a Poodle mix around 7 years old.

Walter is initially shy when meeting new people but give him a little time and he warms up and wants to sit on your lap and cuddle! He gets along well with other dogs, but is also a little shy when first meeting them. He is ok with cats and while there are no children in his foster home, we heard he previously lived with a family that had kids and was good with them. He is pretty laid-back boy that loves relaxing.

He is house trained, crate trained, and walks good on the leash. He is a quiet guy that rarely barks. As his previous owner found Walter as a stray, a potential adopter should be prepared to go slow, give him regular exercise, a structured routine, work on socialization, and couple all of these things with lots of praise and treats! An obedience course would be great for Walter; it will help teach him good manners and commands, further socialization with other dogs and people, and will help build that very important bond between a dog and his human. Walter is currently being treated for some skin conditions and is responding well to oral medications and regular baths.

Walter is a sweet and happy boy who just wants a loving forever home. Can you make his dream come true? Fill out an application today and let him know that you'd love to have him join your family!

Walter’s Story: He was found as a stray by a family that decided to keep him but recently moved to a home that doesn’t allow pets.

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
