Hamilton wants to play...or have an adventure - if you are there, he's all for it!

This handsome dude is looking for a forever home. We are thinking he is a Labrador Retriever mix around two years old.

Hamilton is very affectionate and comfortable with all types of adults and dogs, and would love to be your go-everywhere buddy.  He is house trained but may have a few accidents in the beginning with a new home/routine.  He walks very nicely on a leash.  Crate training is in progress.  Hamilton has a thin but strong physique.  He will do best in a home with consistent structure and rules, and a "no free lunch" policy.  He loves meeting new people but if he hasn't had his daily exercise, he may act a bit rowdy out of excitement.  He is friendly and playful with dogs and would love to have another well-balanced dog of similar size in a new household.  We also think he do well as an only dog in a home.  He would probably enjoy and do well at outings to a dog park, but we haven't tried that yet as he is still settling in from his transport north .   He loves toys, especially small ropes with knots.  He is a pretty quiet guy but will alert bark if someone unknown comes on the property.

A fenced yard would be ideal so Hamilton could run and play safely, but if that's not available he'll need daily long leash walks/runs/hikes, and opportunities for off-leash play in a fenced area.  Right now he is getting 2-3 hours of cardio exercise per day and thriving.  With rigorous, consistent training, he could likely be trained to have great off leash recall skills.  While he is not a busy body or hyper dog, he may get into mischief in the home if his daily exercise and stimulation needs.  An obedience class is a must for him, as it will help teach him good manners and commands, further his socialization with other dogs and people, and will help build that very important bond between him and his new person.

Hamilton is a playful, happy boy who just wants a loving forever home. Can you make his dream come true? Fill out an application today and let him know that you'd love to have him join your family!

Hamilton’s Story: We don’t know a lot about this big boy other than he was found as a stray.

We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence.
