Banjo is available for adoption to Massachusetts residents, as well as those in the other New England states.
This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped.
Love everything about Huskies and Alaskan Malamutes? Then Banjo may be the dog for you! This beautiful gray and white handsome hunk loves a good walk/hike, training session and romp with other dogs, and then is ready to chill inside the house. He is a little too interested in cats and thus don't recommend him for a family with cats or other small animals like chickens.
Banjo is an affectionate, loyal, and playful but also dignified! His almond-shaped blue eyes have an affectionate sparkle, confirming how much he enjoys snuggling with his humans when the workday is done. Banjo is built for work, and he is still learning leash skills so his adopter will need to have a good amount of strength as well as be committed to continuing this training.
We haven't learned all of Banjo's work habits yet, but we know he loves playing with other dogs and loves hiking in the woods. He would likely make a great running buddy and doggie daycare regular. Oh, and Banjo LOVES training of any kind. He is smart as a whip and will work all day for you! Banjo responds best to consistent and confident direction, with the goal being to develop a positive, collaborative relationship. Banjo is looking for an adopter who is comfortable with his/her dog handling skills, and is planning to give him exercise. Banjo has good house manners but could easily become mischievous (or adventurous) if his needs for work and play are not met on a regular basis.
Banjo is a lover (and a talker in play), and loves meeting new people, as well as checking out new places; he settles quickly once he checks things out. Getting there is no problem, either, as Banjo loads up easily into the car and remains calm whether crated, tethered, or loose.
Banjo is eager to meet his forever family or person and start the next chapter of his life. Does he sound like the right buddy for you? Apply today!
Banjo's Backstory: plucky, resilient Banjo was found abandoned in a rural area infested with fleas. We took care of that pronto, and now he is happily parasite free and ready for his next big adventure!
An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this.

*Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
