Did you miss out on the Morse litter that was available for adoption through SOS this Spring/Summer? You're in luck! Meet Ladybug, the last of the Morse litter.
We suspect she is a lab mix, and she has a pretty white and red coat. Ladybug has been cohabitating with other pups as well as outdoor cats and is playful and responsive to corrections with all. While she can initially by shy when meeting new humans and pups or visiting new places, she settles quickly. Once you get to know this girl, it will become obvious that she is affectionate, even-tempered, intelligent, gentle, quiet, and eager to please. Ladybug love lap and cuddle time, but also enjoys playing fetch with her humans or chase and bitey-mouth with her pup friends.
To top it all off, Ladybug is housetrained, and crate trained, and she does well crated in the car. She is still mastering her leash skills and will need an adopter committed to continuing this training. We strongly recommend that all of our puppies attend obedience training to learn commands, develop confidence, and socialize with other dogs.
Think Ladybug is the pup for you? Fill out an application to let her know!
Medical Note: This dog has tested positive for exposure to ehrlichia. This does not mean that this dog had/has an active infection of ehrlichiosis, only that the dog was exposed or infected in the past. This dog is/has been asymptomatic while in SOS care and is being treated/has been treated preventatively with a 28-day course of doxycycline. This dog is ready for adoption, though may continue to test positive for exposure to ehrlichia for some time. Please see here for more information on ehrlichia.
Medical Note: A littermate of this dog is being treated/has been treated for demodectic mange, a non-contagious skin condition. As there is thought to potentially be a genetic component to predisposition to this condition, this dog has been preventatively treated though does not currently show any bald patches and/or thin fur in places. Please note that demodex can flare up in any dog in times of stress (e.g., transport, transition to a new home, change in food, etc.). As such, the adopter is advised to discuss this condition and best next steps with their veterinarian. SOS recommends that dogs with a history of demodectic mange be kept on regular NexGard or Bravecto for flea/tick prevention for at least 3 months after adoption for adults or until 18 months of age for puppies. Please see here for more information on demodectic mange,
Please check with your vet if you have any questions or concerns about this medical history.
An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this.

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
