Need a little sunshine in your life? Well, here comes the Sunshine Litter!
Their story is one of resilience and hope. Abandoned by her previous owners when they moved away, Lovey, their sweet, pregnant mom was left to fend for herself. Fortunately, a compassionate neighbor noticed her plight and began to feed her, but with puppies on the way, she knew Lovey needed more than just food—she needed a safe, loving environment to bring her babies into the world. That's when Wiley's stepped in. Responding to the call for help, they put out an urgent plea for a foster. Answering the call, a kind-hearted foster family welcomed Lovey into their home. Just two days after her rescue, she gave birth to 10 beautiful puppies, aptly named the Sunshine Litter. These pups, true to their name, bring hope and joy wherever they go. Each one is a cuddly plump bundle of joy, with his or her own unique personality and charm. Whether it's playful antics, gentle snuggles, or curious explorations, these little fluff balls are sure to light up any home. Lovey, with her gentle nature and loving heart, has proven to be an extraordinary mother and they have her sweet nature.
Just like all puppies, these little furballs will need lots of training and playtime to become the best canine version of themselves they can be. Beginner obedience class is a must! Though they are working on house training and crate training, learning to walk on leash has not been started yet. They do ride calmly crated in the car. They're playful, affectionate and love to chew on stuff, so keep your favorite shoes or slippers up out of reach and provide appropriate chew toys—and puzzle toys to occupy those little minds. Going by our best breed guess, these puppies are gonna be big doggos so keep that in mind...
Heidi is one of the five girls and just-the-cutest-ever! If you're looking to add joy to your life, consider adopting one of Lovey’s delightful puppies. They are waiting to bring warmth, laughter, and endless love into their new homes.
Medical Note: These puppies were born to and nursed by their heartworm positive mom. This dog is being treated/has been treated for heartworm disease. Untreated heartworm disease can cause lasting damage to the heart, lungs and arteries, and can affect the dog’s health and quality of life even after the parasites are gone, possibly presenting as medical complications and/or new conditions in the future. Whenever possible, SOSARL advocates for following the American Heartworm Society guidelines for heartworm disease treatment as the safest and most effective methods; the active portion of this treatment protocol can take up to four months to complete. Once treatment is completed and the dog tests negative for microfilaria, the dog will be cleared to resume normal activity and will be ready to travel north and be placed into an adoptive home. This dog showed no symptoms of heartworm disease before or during treatment and is expected to complete treatment with no complications. Please ask your Adoption Counselor for the specific treatment protocol used for and current status of this dog. Please check with your vet if you have any questions or concerns about this medical history.
An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this.

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence.
