Meet The Rugrat Litter!
This cute little "rugrat" is Kimi, aka Kimi Finster. Kimi and her five siblings are very lucky to be alive and they owe it all to a pure bred chocolate Lab momma. Kimi's mom, a large black Lab, was in very poor health and extremely emaciated. She needed to have an emergency c-section to save her and her puppies. She had seven puppies but only six lived, however when Kimi's mom woke up from surgery she completely rejected all of her puppies. At the same time, at a different location a chocolate Lab had just given birth in a shelter to 12 puppies, but sadly the workers did not "see" the newborns and cleaned the kennels by hosing them down. The chocolate Lab momma recollected them all soaking wet...only 5 were alive. She continued to dry and nurse them all, even the ones who didn't make it. The newborns that had survived were very weak and all but one passed over the next few days. This poor momma was in true mourning (along with enough milk to feed 12 puppies) - she searched and cried continuously while looking for her lost babies. Then the foster mom to the chocolate Lab momma heard about a litter of 6 pups being rejected by their momma, so she brought the motherless puppies to a puppy-less momma. The chocolate momma cried and danced around the moment they walked through the door. She took HER new babies and packed them with her other baby. She nuzzled them all...cleaned them and protected them with her life. She didn't want to leave them to eat or to go potty for days...All she wanted was to care for her babies. She did a great job and she now has her very own little rugrats.
Kimi is a happy puppy that loves to play with plastic water bottles. She can be shy with new people but she is always friendly. Kimi is a very fast puppy, she's always slipping through crate/fence gates. She is always on the go. She will need to be house trained and leash trained, and she is in the process of crate training. Does Kimi sound like the one for you? If so, fill out an application and maybe you will have your very own rugrat!
