We are talking over-the-top cute!
This very handsome little boy is Newt Newark, one of the five males in the Newark litter! He has  the most beautiful markings: he has white that circles his nose, goes down on his chest, around his neck and up over the top of his head leaving each eye and ear black. His body is black; his legs and the end of his tail are white. He has four brothers, who are also all mostly black and white, to go along with his three sisters! We were told that their mom is a Dalmatian mix and dad is a Border Collie mix, so that makes them a Dalmatian/Border Collie mix mix. And every one of them is just delightful, happy-go-lucky, attentive and affectionate! They went right from where they were born to their southern foster home. As with all puppies, Newt will need an individual or family with the time, patience and energy to train, care for and socialize a puppy. Puppies are a lot of work, but totally worth it! He'll need to be taught to do his business outside, be crate trained and how to walk on a leash. An obedience class is strongly recommended, not only for the bonding aspect of it, but also because it helps with socialization and confidence building. A fenced yard is ideal so that Newt can run and play safely. Newt is your typical active puppy making your typical puppy noises. Are you ready to give him the kind of forever home he's looking for? If so fill out an application today for Newt and prepare yourself for sweet puppy kisses and lots of sweet puppy cuddles!

Newt is being treated prophylactically for demodectic mange because its littermates showed clinical symptoms and tested positive for localized demodectic manage.  Examination of this dog showed no visual evidence of demodectic mange.  Demodex can be hereditary, and flare up in puppies under stress (eg, transport, transition to a new home, etc) and persist even if aggressively treated, though most cases of puppy demodectic mange resolve fully by the time the dog is 18 months old if not before if treated properly.  The adopter is advised to discuss this condition and best next steps with their veterinarian.  Please see here for more information on demodectic mange:    http://www.vcahospitals.com/main/pet-health-information/article/animal-health/mange-demodectic-in-dogs/741

**Additional info you should know -  For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label.   Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption.  There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
